Reflexology can be literally translated as ‘the study of the reflexes’. The best areas for working on the body’s reflexes or nerve pathways are found in the feet.
By applying different pressures and/or massage strokes to the predefined reflex zones of the feet, the corresponding areas of the body can be stimulated so that any area that is the site of pain, illness or potential debility can be strengthened.
Reflexology is a gentle, relaxing and safe treatment, carried out with the patient lying down and, apart from removing shoes and socks, fully clothed.
Basically, Reflexology is designed to promote wellness and relaxation and is a form of preventative therapy.
People who already have long term medical problems (especially Diabetes), or early phase pregnancy, should consult their GP prior to having treatment.
A Reflexology treatment lasts about an hour and includes a medical/health questionnaire.
Reflexology may help to:
Relieve the symptoms of stress, injury and illness.
Ease the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.
Induce general relaxation.
Support the body’s healing process.
Boost energy levels to combat chronic fatigue.
Treat back and other joint pain.
All Reflexology treatments are carried out by Barbara.
